The venue underwent another renovation in the summer of 2012, unveiling the breathtaking Country Fare and Great Hall event spaces. An exciting multi-purpose project commenced with the laying of the cornerstone on June 9, 2012. Over the years, the building underwent expansions in 1912 and 1935, with subsequent renovations in the 1960s.

In 2006, 2012 and 2013, Catalyst Ranch won the Most Unique Venue and Best Conference Venue, respectively, in Illinois Meetings & Events Best Of Awards. Some chefs see it as a challenge that encourages creativity.

APEC House’s stunning location, nestled among pine trees on a rocky shoreline, was the setting for the 17th APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Corporation) meeting in 2005. The round table where world leaders sat for that historic meeting is preserved inside the APEC Memo-rial Museum, as are the name cards of participants.
